Vision of the department:

The vision of the department of Economics is to exploring the economic study and analysis, policy framing and implementation issues faced by the Economy of Assam, as well as the Indian economy along with the analysis of other economies in the world. The department thrives to reach standards of excellence in teaching, research on socioeconomic problems at regional and national level for inclusive development.The department of Economics recognizes the growing demand for trained manpower in all round development of our state as well as our country.We try to meet this demand in a committed manner and try to provide them quality education.

 

Mission of the department:

The department’s mission is to prepare students for acquiring applied knowledge of economics to enhance their employability and entrepreneurship.Our mission is to provide quality instructions to our students to prepare them for successful careers.To fight with the growing unemployment problems of Assam our department has been trying to teach the students to take measures for the development the rural economy of our state, to become self-dependent by getting engaged in agriculture and allied activities in their free times so that they can enrich their home economy.The department also has undertaken various initiatives towards the society as its responsibility.
