The Central Library of Borholla College was established in the year 1990 with a few numbers of books. Gradually, the library has been growing. At present, the library has more than 7500 printed books, various journals, magazines, newspapers, e- resources etc. The objectives of the college library are to share information with the user community and to introduce new services and technologies to meet current information challenges. To encourage the students for maximum and efficient use of the library resources, services and facilities, “Best Library User Award’’ has been started from 2010. The Library publishes “Pragya’’ a wall magazine with collection from students and faculty members. The library used SOUL 2.0 ( software for Universities Libraries initiated by INFLIBNET centre ) Learning Management Software to digitally automate the library services and also provides e- resources to user with the help of UGC Infonet and N-LIST of INFLIBNET.
The college is situated in a rural area and maximum students are economically weaker students. Considering this fact library has taken extra care of them and started a book bank since 2018 to provide books to those needy poor students. The library also takes regular feedback from the users.

- To collect, organize, and disseminate information and knowledge to students, researcher and other academic communities.
- To support teaching-learning and research by providing equitable and open access of library resources.
- To provide library facilities and services necessary for the success of all formal programmes of the institution.
- To preserve and protect library resources.

As per guidelines of the DHE, Guwahati, Assam, the Central Library of Borholla College Constituted a library Advisory Committee under the chairmanship of the Principal. The Librarian is a Convener of that Committee, Sits twice in a year for discussion all round development of the library. The Library Committee has been constituted as follows-

Library Membership:
The Library services are open to registered members. The following categories of persons are eligible to enroll as members of the library.

Book Loan:

Rules For Outsider:
The researcher, students, faculty members from other institutes and general public are allowed to enter library by register their name at the entry point. They are allowed to access the printed resources for reading only ; no issue will be entrained to outsiders.

Working Hours:
The Library is open six days a week (Monday to Saturday).
It remains closed on all Sundays and Dibrugarh University holidays.
Lending services are available from 9 AM to 4 PM.
Code of Conduct in the Library:
- Strict, silence, decorum and discipline must be maintained inside the library.
- Smoking, eating, sleeping and talking loudly are strictly prohibited inside the library.
- Mobile phone and any other electronic devices are not allowed inside the library.
- The reader’s ticket will be given one time for course duration and shall not be transferable.
- Loss or damage of the reader’s card must be reported immediately to the librarian. Duplicate card may be issued after proper verification.
- Books must be returned within the stipulated time.
- The borrower of the book will be responsible for the loss or any other damage of the book. In such cases books shall have to be replaced immediately by the borrower, otherwise he/she will be taken disciplinary action.
- Any misuse of the reader’s card and violation of any rules may be subject to cancellation of the membership.
The library rules will be changed whenever necessary.
Library Resources:
Print collection-
The library has a total collection of about more than 7500 printed volumes including text books, reference books, journals and magazines. Books are organized in open access shelves in various disciplines.
- Text books- This is the largest collection of printed resources in the library. These are issued to the user.
- Reference books- This is also an important source of printed collection comprising reference books of various subjects, Dictionaries, Encyclopedia, rare books etc. Some reference books are issued to the user and other mainly Dictionaries, Encyclopedia, rare books are not issued to the user.
Book Bank:
The library has been providing Book Bank facilities to students belonging to economically weaker section. The facility is provided with the assistance of faculty members of the institution. Late Assistant Professor ‘Ujjal Kumar Chetia memorial Book Bank’ and ‘Rajdeep Bora memorial Book Bank’ are examples of the same. Students are issued books under the book bank facility for one semester.
Journals and Magazines:
Different journals and magazines are subscribed by the library. Library also subscribes several daily and weekly newspapers both in Assamese and English language.

Question papers of past years are available in the library.
