Brief History
The history of the department is one year younger than the college. The college was established in the year of 1990 as a higher educational institution in this remote area name Borholla College. The department of Sociology was established as a popular discipline in the next year of the establishment of college that is in 1991. The college was established under the leadership and guidance of some educationist and social worker of the local residence of Borholla. The department of Sociology was started with a few students, but after a few years latter it is growing one of the most popular subjects among the students.
Mr, Dilip Kr. Khound was the founder teacher of the department. He joined in the department on16th July in the year 1991 as an Assistant Professor. Mrs. Chandrama Devi had joined in 1994. Mrs. Niva Rani Kalita was joined in 2005. At present Mrs. Niva Rani Kalita is the Head of the department.
