HISTORY THE DEPARTMENT:
The Department of English was established with the establishment of the college in the year 1990. Since its inception the department has been catering General English as a subject for the development of the communicative and composition skills of all the students of the institute. The founder faculty members of the department were Mr. Prasanta Mahanta and Mrs. Purnima Bora. After that, during the last 30 years a good number of dedicated faculties provided their service to the department such as Late Shivanath Sharma, Mr. Gautam Saikia, Mrs. Sudipta Saikia and Mr. Anurag Saikia. Presently there are three faculty members in the department i. e. Mr. Debajit Duarah, Mr. Amal Sonowal and Mrs. Munmoni Saikia. The department started the honours course in English from the year 2020 with proper permission from the affiliating university.
