About the Department
Since its establishment in 1990 along with the establishment of Borholla College the department of Economics, has tried its best to make the present generation aware of the recent economic issues of the world. The department started its academic journey with BA in general course. With the increase in the number of the students and responding to the demand of time major course was started in the department from the academic year 1996-97 with the affiliation of Dibrugarh University. Since then the department has tried to provide quality education in Economics to the students, so that they can get theoretical as well as practical knowledge of Economics along with the Economic conditions of the state, the country as well as of the whole world. It further helps the students to contribute towards the socio-economic development of their region, state and their country.
The department of Economics has now grown up as a full flagged department, with three efficient faculty members. It a departmental forum named “Economic Forum”. One beautifully designed Departmental wall magazine named “Arthashatra” is being published every year in a regular basis since 2009. The Department has a departmental Library, which provides necessary books to the needy students. In a nutshell, it tries to give every opportunity to the students who are interested in learning the subject. Above allthe faculty members are always ready to render all possible assistance and guidance to students when required.
